Inexplicable Deaths in Damipolis: Inner Thoughts: a different kind of adventure

On December 10th, Inexplicable Deaths in Damipolis: Inner Thoughts will be released on PC (in digital format), by TieSoft and Badland Publishing, to give a new twist to a genre as classic as exciting: the adventure. How to innovate in a genre that has been fascinating players of all ages for over 40 years? With tons of imagination, a surprising mise-en-scene and a setting that encourages you to turn off all the lights, turn up the volume as much as possible and get into a plot as fascinating as it is original.

The universe of IDID:IT is absolutely unique. The plot takes us to a huge mansion, the scene of a succession of concatenated revenges. Around a table, totally inert, lie some dummies representing all the powers of Damipolis: political, business, economic, judicial, military, religious, scientific and artistic. This room, this dantesque scene marks the starting point of six stories in which the player will relive the fate of six characters, while gathering clues that will help him understand the past of each one and the reasons that led to their death.

Of course, as in any adventure, in IDID:IT we will find puzzles; some will be solved through the right objects and others through cleverness. But in reality, the whole story, the mansion, its inhabitants, compose a puzzle in itself, of colossal dimensions, which the player deciphers as he enters shady rooms, while listening to the relentless sound of rain.

The tarot takes on great importance in the game, not only in the hands of the fortuneteller who appears to us before the beginning of each of the six stories, but also in the form of collectible objects that we must associate with the totems, representations of each of the guests of the mansion, to discover more and more information that will help us to know more about their stories.

The Seville-based TieSoft team was inspired by the Noir film classics of the 1940s and 1950s to create the fascinating atmosphere that surrounds IDID:IT, from the black and white aesthetic to the soundtrack, which features a surprising use of sound. We don’t exaggerate when we say that in some moments you will think you have a leak at home, because the sound of rain seems to magically emanate in a different plane from the rest of the sound effects of the game.

Its creators describe IDID:IT with the concept “Feelmgame”. Their game is more than a walking simulator, more than a first-person adventure. It is something personal and unique. It is a succession of puzzles within other puzzles, a gloomy and esoteric journey through the destiny of various characters, in which each object ends up being one more element to build the narrative.

Intrigued? Well, you’ll have to wait until next December 10th to enter the universe of IDID:IT. The table is set, the guests are sitting around it, the tarot deck is about to unfold… the mystery has only just begun.
